Shirley Ann (Williams) Peters was born August 27, 1931, to Lewis and Alice Williams in Moline, IL. Shirley departed this world on May 23, 2024, and was embraced by her loving Savior’s arms in Heaven.

On May 6, 1950, she married Richard Peters in Moline, IL. They were blessed with three children, two daughters, and a son.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Christine; parents; a brother, Lewis Williams Jr., and a sister, Mary Jo Ashmore.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 74 years; sisters, Norma Jean Grambling and Betty Lou Hostlaw of the Quad-City area; daughter, Rita Gibson (John) and son Ronald Peters (Denise); seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

After retiring from Sears in Davenport, IA, she moved with her husband to Marshfield, and became a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and in the community, working at the Chamber of Commerce with her husband and the food pantry. She did find time for quilting with family and friends. She was instrumental in forming a committee and together they built the Pavilion Center at White Oak Cemetery.

She will lovingly be remembered by family and friends. Her loving Savior said, “Shirley your work on earth is done – come home.”

Funeral services for Shirley will be Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield. Visitation will be at noon Tuesday until service time.

Interment will be in Marshfield Cemetery under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc.
