Karen Ann Basinger

 
 

Karen Ann Basinger, Niangua, MO, was born August 11, 1964, in Chenon, France. She departed this life on October 20, 2024, in her home at the age of 60.

Karen was part of the Steppers team in high school, which led her to be an Arthur Murray Dance School instructor as well as a cruise ship dance instructor. She worked for the city of Baldknob, Arkansas and later at Casey’s. She loved people. Karen will be remembered for her contagious laugh and the fact that she could count to ten in three different languages before she started kindergarten. Karen was saved when she moved to Marshfield at the Webster County Baptist Association.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sobiech, III; her stepfather, Wilford “Bill” Jackson Keeling; her grandparents, Richard and Dorothy Sowers; her uncle, Jerry Sowers.

Karen is survived by her mother, Anita Keeling, Niangua, her sister, Teresa Keeling, Niangua; her uncles, Neal Sowers, Springfield, Tom Sowers, Marshfield, Stan Sowers, Marshfield; her aunt, Donna Webb, Little Rock, AR; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., in Compass Church under the direction of Fraker Funeral Home, Inc., Marshfield.
